About the client
The UKs largest housing association, with annual revenue in excess of £500M.
Key challenges
The client had legacy workloads in the DCs SQL servers, as well as outdated hardware and software assets leading to increased IT maintenance, license costs and operational complexity. As part of their cloud-first strategy the client wished to migrate DC workloads to an Azure cloud and required a foundation.
Solution
As part of a cloud transformation programme, we designed and automated a green field customized Azure landing zone tailored to the client’s specific migration needs. The LZ was fully automated using Terraform and integrated Azure DevOps practices to achieve centralized governance, security, and monitoring. We provisioned migration ready Azure environments (production, testing, and development) and enabled CCOE functionality allowing the client to manage ongoing cloud demands.
Outcome
On successful implementation the project delivered tangible benefits in these areas:
- Cloud foundations designed and automated – giving the client confidence to move to the next phase to reduce TCO and increase ROI.
- Achieved full organizational readiness by implementing CCOE functionality enabling the client to self-manage cloud demands.
